I have been wondering about this question since I was 21. I have a pistol permit and I have been curious about if someone breaks into your house do you have the right to shoot them to protect yourself. So pretty much here is my question, if someone was to break into your house with a gun when do you have the right to protect yourself without getting into trouble with the law. I know a decent bit about this topic but have heard so many different stories on what you can and cannot do. So I would like to find out the truth behind all of this. In my opinion, if anyone enters your house without permission you should have the right to shoot them if you felt threatened. I have heard that the only way you could shoot someone who broke into your house is, if you had no other way of getting out of the house or if all entrances are blocked. It is not right that if someone broke into someone’s house in the middle of the night the home owner can’t protect his family because he is to worried about getting into trouble with the law.
Also, I might think about doing this research paper on search warrants. I would like to find out when the police do and don’t have the right to enter you homes.
